UTSA keeps unbeaten Conference USA run alive, winning at UAB in 2OT
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — As the clock flipped to overtime and the sunset turned the sky over Progressive Stadium to billowing shades of orange, UTSA coach Jeff Traylor held up his hands in the shape of a triangle.
“I just hold up that Triangle signal, and that’s all I've got to say,” Traylor said. “I don’t say nothing else. We believe it. That’s it. I don’t have to say much during the game. We live it.” “It feels good, man. We just have to finish the job this year,” senior cornerback Corey Mayfield said. “We were like this last year at this time, and we just have to finish, now.”
UTSA and UAB exchanged touchdowns in the first two overtimes, with Blazers quarterback and Jay grad Jacob Zeno finding Tejhuan Palmer for an 11-yard touchdown before the Roadrunners responded with a 2-yard connection from Harris to Tykee Ogle-Kellogg.
