'We currently have a census of 11 inpatients (at RHMC), and are in the process of identifying appropriate beds in our community hospitals for those who will require inpatient care beyond the closure date,” University Hospitals said in a statement.

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- University Hospitals Richmond Heights Medical Center is set to close the last unit in operation at the facility -- its behavioral health unit -- on Dec. 17.Heights Medical Center, 27100 Chardon Road, would no longer provide inpatient and emergency services or surgeries. It also stated then that the behavioral health unit would remain open until the end of the year and that doctors would continue to serve patients at the site.

The release went on to state: “Security will be in place while physicians move their practices to the medical office building onsite. We remind patients in the area that they will still be able to see their physicians for appointments at the medical office building.” “I am appreciative of their sincere interest in working with us, and excited about their willingness to bring us new programs that directly address many of our most pressing local challenges to health and well-being for all.”
