An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Martin, and police said Martin’s attorney arranged for him to turn himself in. Martin, of Burleson, was booked into the Tarrant County jail Thursday with bail set at $25,000, according to jail records. It is unclear who his attorney is.
The school district said it is “cooperating fully” with police in the investigation, made a mandatory report to the State Board for Educator Certification, and plans to report its findings to the board. “Our educators and support staff work each day to establish and maintain a culture that prioritizes student safety and keeps it at the forefront of all that we do,” the statement said. “Inappropriate behavior with a student violates every principle we stand for as a community that supports student success. It will not be tolerated.”
