Tre Wisner signed his National Letter of Intent with Texas on Dec. 21. He'll head to Austin with teammate Johntay Cook II, and a special relationship with Longhorns running backs coach Tashard Choice.
DESOTO, Texas — Tre Wisner took a risk by joining the DeSoto football team this offseason. The risk paid off with a state title.
Wisner's hybrid role of rusher and receiver was on display in the Class 6A, Division 2 title game. He finished with 210 total yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Eagles' 42-17 win over Austin Vandegrift. Wisner transferred to DeSoto after two productive seasons at Waco Connally High School. He settled into his role after some early bumps.
