The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square canceled its live radio broadcast 'Music and the Spoken Word' this Sunday after many members got sick while on tour in Mexico.

Coronavirus, gastrointestinal ailments sickened many members as the choir and orchestra made their first international trip since before the pandemic.

Kelly Smoot, a spokesperson for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said in an email Thursday that a couple of choir members tested positive for the virus after arriving in Mexico City for the group’s first international trip since pre-pandemic 2019.
