A semitruck fire along U.S. 6 west of Wellington in Carbon County caused significant delays on Monday afternoon, exacerbating delays from holiday traffic.

The Wellington Fire Department said on Facebook that it was called at 12:45 p.m. and found the cab fully engulfed, which had created a brush fire. No injuries were reported."We appreciate the hard work that was put in," the Facebook post said. The Utah Department of Transportation estimates the cleanup will be complete by 4:30 p.m. Delays of up to 15 minutes affecting both directions on U.S. 6 are reported in the area, according to the agency.
