New Pokémon live action drama has been announced for October.

TV Tokyo and The Pokemon Company announced the creation of a new live-action drama series based on the beloved Pokémon franchise. The series, entitled Pocket ni Boken wo Tsumekonde or Fill Your Pocket With Adventure in English will be focused on games like Pokémon Red, but has a unique premise that makes it different from the numerous other Pokémon properties available. Plus, the series is set in the real world.

Nanase Nishino – a Japanese actress, television host, model, and former idol – will be playing the role of Madoka Akagi. Nishino herself is a fan of Pokémon, and has followed the series since childhood. She's received recognition for her acting talents, earning awards like the 45th Japan Academy Award Film Prize for Best Supporting Actress and Newcomer of The Year.
