For the fourth week in a row, the weekly number of COVID-19 cases in Ohio decreased, dropping from 14,536 last week to 12,101 this week.
Ohio has been over 10,000 cases per week every week since the beginning of May. Cases peaked for the summer on July 28 at 29,876. The numbers began dropping in August, and have continued to decrease, except for a spike in late August.Total reported COVID-19 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic were 39,856.A total of 7,473,271 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 67.5% of Ohioans age 5 and up.
Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 24,859 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 1,376 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. And there have been 77,170 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 5,701 fully vaccinated people hospitalized.* Total reported cases: 3,143,746, up 12,101.* Total reported ICU admissions: 14,242, up 22.* Total reported deaths: 39,676, up 92.
