A South Texas teen left nearly paralyzed after a car crash in 2016 is a high school graduate on his way to college.
Carter Wilbanks, 18, walked across the graduation stage on May 24th at Canyon High School in New Braunfels, part of the Comal Independent School District.has been followingSeven years ago, the New Braunfels family experienced the unimaginable. A car crash near Waco changed their life forever.
Their son, Carter, was most hurt with head injuries and two broken legs. He was airlifted from Temple to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. "[We were] literally living hour to hour day to day, and the hospitals were trying to beat us out," said Tara Wilbanks, Carter's mom."[He] a full spinal fusion that set him back. He came right back from that. He had leg surgery. We came right back from that. He has worked his tail off and never complained," added Tara."Being positive and working hard," said John.
