Man killed in shooting spree identified [Breaking]
Raul Rojas Valdez, 32, of San Diego, died after suffering multiple gunshot and “sharp-force injures” in an attack at about 9:15 p.m. on Manzana Way near Goode Street in Bay Terrace, police said. A second man in the area was also shot and injured. Investigators believe it was the third shooting during an hourlong spree.
The first was reported about 8:10 p.m. in Spring Valley on Dovecrest Court near Lamar Street, when someone was shot at but not injured, police said. According to police, about 15 minutes later, a gunman opened fire on four teens on Akins Avenue near 62nd Street in the San Diego community of Encanto. Two were hit. They are expected to survive.Police arrested Jaime Gonzalez, 22, of Lemon Grove on Friday in connection with the shooting spree.
At this time, San Diego police homicide detectives believe Gonzalez targeted victims randomly and acted alone. In each case, Gonzalez is suspected of getting out of his vehicle, approaching on foot and then opening fire, police said.
