Houstonians know the space as one of the former cluster of dining venues that the Vincent Mandola Family Restaurants ran for decades at 2817 W. Dallas.that included Nino’s, Vincent’s, and Grappino di Nino last August, ending a restaurant legacy that had its beginnings in 1977. The 2.57-acre compound was purchased by an affiliate of Oxberry Group and TKG Capital Partners to create the new Harlow District.
The cocktail program will be of special interest to Houston diners. Verde Garden plans on featuring made-to-order frozen margaritas . There will be 12 specialty frozen margaritas as well as 20 house cocktails and 60 classic cocktail crafted from a selection of more than 250 agave and Mexican spirits as well as bourbon, rum, scotch, gin, vodka, and more. Beer and wine fill out the beverage menu designed to complement the food menu from chef Teddy Lopez, culinary director for Kirby Group.
Verde Garden, whose official address is 1011 La Rue will open to the public April 25. It plans to hold a grand opening party on Thursday, May 4, 7 to 9 p.m. with a mariachi band and continue its celebration weekend on Cinco de Mayo.
