Daiso opened first in Carrollton in 2015 to a long line of shoppers. While Americans call it a Japanese dollar store, prices vary and the mix of merchandise includes makeup and snacks.Sometimes Dallas residents have to wait a few years to get a new retailer busy opening locations in the suburbs.
The Japanese dollar store first came to Texas in 2015 with a store in Asian-focused Carrollton Town Center and since has opened in Irving, Euless, Grapevine, Plano, Arlington, Frisco and Fort Worth. It’s called a 100 Yen store in Japan and the merchandise is different from what’s found in a Dollar General or Dollar Tree. It has seasonal items, a big range of stationery including stickers and notebooks, apparel, electronic accessories, kitchen and storage items, cosmetics, and toys.
