Hundreds of people gathered on Lake Forest’s Market Square lawn as nine local clergy members offered prayers and reflections in light of the horrific Highland Park shooting that took the lives of seven people and injured dozens of others.

“I’m sad that there is now such a thing as a prayer for a mass shooting, but I am encouraged at the way people are stepping up to care for each other,” he said after the service.
