The annual event will feature 82 marching bands for the preliminary competition on Friday. The top 14 bands will advance to the final competition on Saturday.On ExpressNews.com:The competition is one of 26 Bands of America marching band championships across the country during the fall. Eight regional championships took place earlier this year, including in McAllen, Waco and Austin, that led up to the the San Antonio event.
The Bands of America season concludes with the Bands of America Grand National Championships from Nov. 10 to 12 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The San Antonio Super Regional is the second-largest Bands of America show after the Grand National.
