Family members who lost a sibling place flowers outside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Wednesday. A reader, like so many others, says enough is enough.Thank you, governor and our Legislature, for allowing adult Texans to own guns — no background check, no license, no training — and to be able to indiscriminately shoot anyone. Multi-round magazines, assault style rifles. All in the support of rights and safety. Ask the families in Buffalo and Uvalde how safe they feel.
For the love of God, can’t we stop filling their innocent young minds with lies and negative, hateful thoughts? They are not developed enough to understand racist propaganda. It totally confuses them, and because they imitate their elders and want desperately to belong, they readily digest what they hear. Unfortunately, they actually become those thoughts.
Pretty soon, no one will be safe. If one is elderly, slow, disabled, of foreign descent, has an accent, is not white or is different in any way, they could become a target for the disenfranchised. Teenagers mowing down complete strangers. Is this really what we want? Parents, please wake up. You don’t want this dreadful situation for your children. I enjoyed the article about iconic San Antonio logos, but you forgot one of my favorites: the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. I have always loved the clever use of a cowboy hat forming the “S.”
