But since January 2021, an aggressive coalition has insisted the presidential election was stolen and rife with voter fraud, demanding state election audits. States are in charge of running elections, which hasn’t changed since 2020, yet suddenly they are bastions of democracy and representation because the U.S. Supreme Court conservative majority says so?
We all know Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” has spawned a lot of voter-suppression tactics by various state legislatures, and already 2020 election deniers are winning secretary of state primaries. These folks could be in charge of the 2024 presidential election.It’s all about abortionI was taught about the Civil War in an Alabama public school. I distinctly remember the teacher saying the war wasn’t about slavery, it was about states’ rights.
The states vs. federal government conflict is as an old useful argument deployed when people want to get away with heinous behavior. And make no mistake: They are coming for the blue states. Of course it’s about abortion.
