The convention issued a lengthy statement saying he failed to meet a deadline set for him to apologize.

“Because we understand this issue required great urgency, we gave Rick Steiner 24 hours to make such a statement,” the post read. “Unfortunately, there is not currently and we do not expect to receive such a statement, and we have therefore made a decision to revoke our permission for him to attend.”“We initially allowed him to return because 1) We still feel that people deserve a second chance,” the event’s statement read. “2) Rick did make an apology to all parties that chose to be present.

Shaw said she “kept her head down” because she “did not want to acknowledge that hate,” but that when she got to her table she told another IMPACT wrestler about it and said it wasn’t sitting well with her. That is when she said she decided she wanted to know who was saying those things to her because it was unacceptable.

Shaw said that she was also disappointed because other wrestling legends witnessed it but “turned their heads away,” and “did not want to get involved.” “I want everyone to know what kind of deplorable person Rick Steiner is and that this cannot be tolerated,” she added.
