UPDATE: Wrong-way crash kills 2, shuts down part of southbound NYS Thruway
TUXEDO, New York --
A fatal, wrong-way crash closed the southbound New York State Thruway in Tuxedo, Orange County early Tuesday morning. State police say two vehicles collided head-on in the southbound lanes between exits 15a and 16 at around 1 a.m.Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.Southbound traffic on I-87 between Exit 15A and Exit 16 was being diverted off the highway at Exit 16 as police investigated and crews worked to clear the wrecked vehicles.
