Jerryctana Woolboy was sentenced to 85 months in prison after pleading guilty to shooting another Navajo Nation member.

A woman was sentenced to just over seven years in prison for a shooting last year.

Jerryctana Woolboy, 31, of Dennehotso, Arizona, was sentenced last week for the February 14, 2021, shooting of a member of the Navajo Nation, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of Arizona. Woolboy shot her gun at an occupied vehicle on Navajo Nation land, causing serious injury to an unidentified passenger, officials said.

Woolboy was sentenced to 85 months in prison after pleading guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Woolboy and the victim are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, and the case was investigated jointly by FBI and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.Reach breaking news intern Brock Blasdell at
