UPDATE: After the woman's body was pulled from the water, police said they found 'signs of trauma inconsistent with drowning.'
Grapevine PD responded to the area near the spillway after the body was spotted at about 2:30 p.m Thursday.Search teams recovered the body of a 19-year-old drowning victim from Lewisville Lake on Thursday afternoon. It’s the third incident at the lake this week.
Fairway Drive was closed between the golf course and Rockledge Park while police responded to get the body out of the water and investigate. After the woman's body was pulled from the water, police said they found "signs of trauma inconsistent with drowning."Her body was sent to the medical examiner to be identified and to determine the cause of death.
The Grapevine Police Department says to expect intermittent closures throughout the day on Fairway Drive Friday while detectives investigate the case.
