A North Carolina woman is facing a list of charges after investigators said she kidnapped her stepson and castrated him.
The Wilson County Department of Social Services referred the case to detectives after the victim was brought to a hospital with third-degree burns,reported. Hospital staff told officials that the injuries did not seem to be self-inflicted, and there were other injuries to the child’s body.
Officials said the child, whose age was not released, had injuries and bruising to the face, head, arms, upper and lower legs, back and genital area,A magistrate ordered Byrd to be held on a $2 million secured bond,
