A 68-year-old woman died after falling into rapids during a boating trip at Grand Canyon National Park on Thursday, according to the U.S. National Park Service.park service report,

The park described the Hance Rapid as a “highly technical and powerful whitewater rapid” at the Colorado River’s intersection with Red Canyon. After the incident, Kelley was pulled out of the river by members of her traveling group. She was unresponsive, and CPR was administered before emergency crews arrived.
