Eighty-year-old woman mauled to death in vicious attack
Officers from Victor Valley Sheriff's Station were first alerted to reports of an attack somewhere in the area of Vinton Street and Mesa Road, in Baldy Mesa, at about 11:09 a.m. local time on Friday, October 7.later learned she had been attacked by dogs, according to a statement from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department .
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, more than 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year in the U.S. and at least half are children.It added that more than 800,000 people in the country receive medical attention every year for dog bites in the country. An SBCSD spokesperson said in a news release:"Through information gathered during the preliminary investigation, investigators believe Han was out for a walk when she was attacked by two dogs from a nearby home.
"Han suffered major injuries during the attack and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The dog owner was located and is cooperating with the investigation." The police news release continued:"San Bernadino County Animal Control responded to the location and took custody of the dogs."
