The Wiregrass is expected to be in the Fourth of July spirit this year as several family-friendly events will be going on throughout the weekend.
Fort Novosel will hold its annual Freedom Fest from 4-9 p.m. at its festival fairgrounds.
Festivities include multiple concerts at the saloon, a slam warrior competition, a party in the waterpark, fireworks, and much more. The event will last through Tuesday, July 4. Additional information can be found on www.bamaslamsaloon.com.The town of Rehobeth's 4th annual Red, White, & Boom event takes place at Rehobeth High School from 5-9 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and folding chairs. The event opens to the public at 4 p.m. Awesome Dog Grooming is sponsoring the Patriotic Pup Costume Contest at 11 a.m. at the AMVETS stage. The best patriotic dressed pup will win a $50 gift certificate for grooming at Awesome Dog Grooming.
Activities include a watermelon-eating contest, car show, live music, pie-eating contest, tug-of-war contest, and more.
