Thanos' Wife Revealed His Broken Humanity Terraxia's presence exposes many of Thanos' flaws. One of the underlying themes of Thanos' 'love' for Death is that he actually wants to be her superior. Thanos is unwilling to truly submit himself to Death's dominion like every other living being, and thus she rejects him. When Thanos creates Terraxia, he exposes what he really wants from a partner - to see himself reflected and never be challenged.
Marvel Studios' blockbuster crossover films Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers: Endgame remained a largely faithful adaptation of The Infinity Gauntlet, but neither Terraxia nor Lady Death were anywhere in sight. Infinity War and Endgame already had several beats to juggle without adding in a love interest for Thanos, especially since his obsession with Death wasn't used in the movies.
