MarvelStudios producer explains why WerewolfByNight is a TV special instead of a series or movie (exclusive):
When you think of the classic monster movies of the 1930s and 1940s that inspired Werewolf by Night, the first ever Marvel Studios Special Presentation, you might name Boris Karloff's Frankenstein or The Mummy. Bela Lugosi's Dracula. And, of course, Claude Rains in The Wolf Man.
Unlike recent Marvel Studios series like Moon Knight and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Marvel's Werewolf by Night is contained to a 53-minute one-off . Directed by frequent Marvel composer Michael Giacchino in his feature directorial debut, Werewolf by Night introduces such supernatural characters as the monstrous Man-Thing, the undead Ulysses Bloodstone, and his monster-hunter daughter, Elsa Bloodstone .
