Hollywood marketing expert Terry Press offers her insights into James Gunn's relationship to The Flash, explaining why he has to express enthusiasm about the film. Directed by Andres Muschietti, The Flash sees the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and serves as a reset of the DCU canon. Prior to its release, the film was widely hailed as one of the best offerings of the DCU thus far, with Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, calling it "one of the best superhero movies [he's] ever seen.
“When you inherit movies that you didn’t make, you still have to own them. You are still responsible for making them the best they can be and releasing them in the world. It’s kind of a catch-22. You can’t say, ‘Well, my regime starts here.’ It’s like, you have these movies in the can and you have to deal with them.”
