New York-based real estate investor Brixmor Property Group acquired a Whole Foods-anchored shopping center in Sugar Land as Houston's retail market continues to benefit from strong demand.
Brixmor has purchased another Whole Foods-anchored center in the Houston area, this time the Lake Pointe Village shopping center in Sugar Land., a New York-based real estate firm is snatching another Whole Foods-anchored shopping center in an affluent Houston suburb as grocery-anchored retail centers continue to be popular choices for investors in the pandemic.
“This particular Whole Foods Market is continually one of the top performers in the entire Houston chain, and the property benefits from tremendous traffic, freeway visibility, and access. The property sits in a master-planned community with attractive demographic profiles and a highly educated, skilled workforce,” said Daniel Sutherland,senior vice president of acquisitions and dispositions at Brixmor Property Group, in an email.
Located at 15900 Southwest Freeway across from Sugar Land Town Square, the highly-visible Lake Pointe Village is within a wealthy and highly-educated community where within a 3-mile radius, the average household income is $157,000 and about 62 percent of residents have a college degree, according to Brixmor.
