.GovWhitmer took a shot at GovRonDeSantis for his ongoing feud with Disney. 'I think a lot of politicians just wanna pick fights and get headlines, whether it's picking a fight with Mickey Mouse or moving backwards to the early 1900s,' Whitmer said.
Whitmer also claimed that other states are"waging wars" against parts of their respective populations. Her comments came while speaking on Comedy Central's The Daily Show on Wednesday. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer takes a swipe at Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Republicans:
"We're trying to make Michigan a place where every business can thrive, and every person has rights and freedoms to make their own decisions and to live the life they want and to be successful here in Michigan," she added. The battle between DeSantis and Disney, which led to Disney's Central Florida district being restructured, stemmed from the entertainment giant's comments denouncing DeSantis's push for the Parental Rights in Education Act last year. Disney had maintained full autonomy over the district since its creation in 1967.
