President JoeBiden denounced the actions of an armed man arrested near Brett Kavanaugh's home after threatening to kill the Supreme Court justice, according to the White House.

"As the president has consistently made clear, public officials, including judges, must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety or that of their families," press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Wednesday."Any violence, or threats of violence, or attempts to intimidate justices have no place in our society.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has made similar statements, describing the rise in violence and unlawful threats of violence directed at public officials as"unacceptable" and"dangerous to our democracy," Jean-Pierre added aboard Air Force One en route to California for the Summit of the Americas. She went on to allude to U.S. Marshals providing support to the country's highest court and that Biden backs legislation boosting the institution's security funding.

Shortly after the draft Dobbs ruling was leaked in May, protesters converged on Kavanaugh's home, in addition to that of Chief Justice John Roberts and the draft's author, Justice Samuel Alito. The White House has been criticized for not explicitly condemning demonstrations outside Supreme Court justices' homes.
