But for decades now, Americans and immigrants alike have been waiting for legislators to listen to them and enact real-world solutions that could turn a tangled mess of antiquated laws and policies into a fair, functional immigration framework. We have waited, and waited, and waited some more even as our representatives routinely choose partisan grandstanding and political squabbles over the potential for actual progress.
