The nanny, who shared text messages between her and Sudeikis, said that Sudeikis was blindsided and “broken-hearted” by Wilde’s relationship with Styles. In one of her more colorful claims, the nanny said that the “Ted Lasso” star became distraught and confronted Wilde after he saw her prepare a “special” salad dressing for Styles at the estranged couple’s Los Angeles home. The salad dressing had some sort of significance for Sudeikis and his relationship with Wilde, according to the nanny.
The salad dressing claim prompted headlines, questions and memes about this special dressing. Wilde appeared to address this claim in a cheeky way Tuesday night by posting a page from Ephron’s 1983 novel “Heartburn” to her Instagram Story. Wilde made no other comment, but for those interested, Ephron’s vinaigrette is made up of two tablespoons of mustard, two tablespoons of “good” red wine vinegar, and six tablespoons of olive oil, whisked together.
Meanwhile, Wilde and Sudeikis addressed the nanny’s allegations in a general way Monday. Despite their bitter breakup, the estranged couple pulled together Monday to issue a joint statement to deny the nanny’s “false and scurrilous accusations.” They also said the nanny engaged in an 18-month-long campaign of “harassing us.”
