Wolf Pack takes 28-15 victory in Grossmont Valley League game
West Hills head coach Casey Ash wasn’t about to address his Wolf Pack football team at halftime of their Homecoming game with El Cajon Valley on Friday night.
El Cajon Valley probably has its best team in nearly two decades and made the Wolf Pack earn their 11th consecutive Grossmont Valley League game dating back to the Spring football season in 2021 with a 28-15 win on Friday night. For now, the Wolf Pack are still in line for a season-ending championship game with the El Capitan Vaqueros, who took care of business in their 49-26 Homecoming win over Mount Miguel. A game that the Vaqueros also had to overcome a halftime deficit.West Hills scored on its first possession with an 8-yard touchdown completion from senior Collin Dill to Nate Stevens with 1:42 left in the first quarter.
Gordon carried the ball on 10 of 12 plays on the drive, amassing 72 yards on the possession, including the score, which came with just 1:08 remaining in the first half. Dill completed a short pass to junior Diego Calderon for the 15-yard score with just 24.5 seconds remaining in the first half.
