We chat with West Duchovny and Jayden Elijah (jaydenjpd) about their work on Hulu’s new psychological drama SaintX, based on the beloved novel of the same name:

Hulu’s new psychological drama Saint X is a gripping new series that tells a tragic and captivating story across multiple timelines. The series is based on a book of the same name by Alexis Schaitkin, and was developed for the screen by Leila Gerstein, who previously worked on The Handmaid’s Tale and Mrs. America.

West Duchovny: Yes, a hundred percent. I was like, everyone has to [be invested]. And she's controversial in a lot of ways, and contradictory. More so than making her likable, [my job was] making her human, and I tried my best. The challenge going into it was, "I have eight days to show who she is," because when she dies, her identity is at the mercy of rumors and other people's opinions and understanding.

Your characters hit it off early on. What do you think it is about each of them that draws them to each other? In seeing what each of you have done in the past, I feel like this might be a little bit different [and] a little bit darker for both of you. What was the hardest part of jumping into this project?
