Paramount tried to mitigate Star Trek: Nemesis' costs by offering low salaries to the returning TNG cast, but failed to avert a $60 million flop.
A Star Trek: The Next Generation legend was almost removed from Star Trek: Nemesis during a dispute about pay on the $60 million dollar flop movie. Nemesis was an ignominious end to the TNG crew's adventures, performing poorly at the box office and being the final nail in the coffin for that incarnation of the Star Trek movie franchise.
Why Star Trek: Nemesis Almost Removed Deanna Troi When she revealed the information about her contract dispute back in 2017, Marina Sirtis was responding to a question about why female actors are more vocal about contract negotiations than male actors. She highlighted the Hollywood gender-pay gap, and used her experience on Star Trek: Nemesis as an example. Sirtis revealed that she refused to return to the role of Deanna Troi for the amount of money being offered to her.
