Affected customers will get benefits worth between $5 and $500.
Wawa said customer debit and credit card numbers, expiration dates and cardholder names were exposed, but PIN numbers and CVV2 codes were not.
At part of the final settlement, customers will get one of three forms of payment, and the company will also pay $35 million to upgrade its security, according to court documents. The first group of customers — people who used their debit or credit cards at Wawa during that time and said they spent time monitoring their credit because of the breach — would receive a $5 gift card.
Members of the second group would get a $10 gift card. People in this group are those who had a fraudulent charge on their cards during the data breach period.
