Cillian Murphy stars as the theoretical physicist and director of the Manhattan Project.
Cillian Murphy leads the ensemble cast of Christopher Nolan's film.J. Robert Oppenheimer’s association with the Manhattan Project’s Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico, where he was director, resulted in the 1945 detonation of the first atomic bomb and the use of nuclear weapons in United States attacks on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.
After the war, Oppenheimer, a New York native, became director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He was living in Princeton when he died at 62 in 1967.was created for the film to show the first detonation of a nuclear weapon in the 1945 Trinity test in New Mexico without the use of CGI effects.
The director also said that he worked with cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema to get IMAX to create a new film stock for the movie that allowed them to film IMAX in black and white.” actor and “Tenet” director have worked together many times. In “Oppenheimer,” Emily Blunt plays Oppenheimer’s wife Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer, while Robert Downey Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, chairman of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission and trustee of the Institute for Advanced Study, and Matt Damon plays Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr., who oversaw the Manhattan Project.
