The White House is hosting its press briefing on Friday at 3:45 p.m. EDT, the first briefing in the wake of the Supreme Court's ruling on President Joe Biden's student loan cancellation plan.

On Friday morning, the high court handed down two opinions following lawsuits against Biden's plan to cancel $400 billion in student debt.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the 6-3 majority opinion in the case Biden v. Nebraska. The decision comes as a nearly three-year moratorium on student loan payments will soon end, as interest will start accruing again on Sept. 1 and payments are due beginning in October.
