The fugitives, all of them from Essex County, were picked up during the month of April for failing to appear in court
. They were all arrested without incident for crimes ranging from murder, to aggravated assault and robbery, weapons possession, down to shoplifting, the prosecutor’s office said.
“As a matter of fact, they do their best to avoid being encountered by law enforcement. So efforts like this warrant sweep are pivotal in keeping our communities safe,” he said. The warrant sweep also included the arrest of a man accused of killing Frensly Bouquet, a 27-year-old truck driver from Florida on April 12. Lavon Ford, 27, of Newark, shot Bouquet around 1:45 a.m. during a robbery after the driver had pulled over on McCarter Highway to make a phone call, authorities said.The details of the juvenile arrest for homicide were not available at the news conference.
