Walmart's logo has evolved many times since 1962.The logo has shifted from"WALMART" to"WAL-MART" and then finally,"Walmart," in lowercase without the hyphen.
When Sam Walton opened the retail giant in 1962 with its first store in Rogers, Arkansas, it was named "WALMART" with a straight blue logo.The then-fledgling retailer decided to change things up two years later. The company created a new logo in black and added a hyphen. The logo was known as the "Font Frontier Logo" and was the first widely used logo for the brand, lasting from 1964 to 1981.
