AMC has released a new official poster for The Walking Dead that unites the major characters in the show's 11 seasons in celebration of the series finale. The Walking Dead premiered in 2010, changing the zombie genre forever and becoming a fan-favorite show right out of the gate. Audiences worldwide fell in love with Rick Grimes' journey to find his family after waking up in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
The Walking Dead's official Twitter account released a new poster featuring all the major characters over the 11 seasons of the show. The characters included range from the short-lived Shane and Lori to iconic characters debuting during The Walking Dead's long run, such as Abraham, Negan, and The Governor. Characters from the show's last few seasons are also present, with villains Alpha, Beta, and Pamela Milton all present.
The best way The Walking Dead's universe can stay relevant after the main show's finale is by taking beloved characters, such as Negan and Maggie, and expanding their story in brand new settings, focusing on world-building, which appears to be precisely what will happen. First up after the end of The Walking Dead is the Negan and Maggie spinoff show, The Walking Dead: Dead City, originally titled Isle of the Dead when it was first revealed in March.
After that, there are two more significant The Walking Dead spinoffs. One of them is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which will bring a major shift to Daryl's life as he is pitted against unknown foes in a new country yet to be explored in The Walking Dead's universe, France. The final announced spinoff, still untitled at this point, stars Rick Grimes and Michonne as they fight to find their way back to each other.
