Victim in Nestor-area murder-suicide identified as 16-year-old San Diego girl [Breaking]
San Diego police on Thursday said the victim of a murder-suicide last week was a 16-year-old girl.
The victim was identified as Abigail Lugo Lopez, a resident of San Diego, homicide Lt. Jud Campbell said in a news release.by 20-year-old Manuel Valenzuela Jr., who then turned the gun on himself in his apartment in the city’s Nestor neighborhood.The two had been dating, Campbell said. He added, “At this point, it is still unclear what motivated the murder-suicide. Detectives continue to work through the evidence.
About 11 a.m. Friday, neighbors of Valenzuela’s residence in the Grove Terrace Apartments on Grove Avenue near Hollister Avenue reported hearing gunfire.Police asked that anyone with information about the incident call the Homicide Unit at 531-2293.
