Terry said speeding is a major contributor to motorcycle crashes, and that many fatalities involve riders who haven't taken training or safety courses.Fueling up in Draper on Monday afternoon, Fernando Gaertner said he drives quite a bit – to school or to visit his mom. Occasionally, he told KUTV 2News, he comes across an aggressive motorcyclist.
Asked how it makes him feel, Gaertner said, “I would say not only nervous, but I get pretty angry. I’m not going to lie.” Other riders on the roads aren't a problem. Terry said he teaches all riders in his courses to follow traffic laws, be courteous, stay visible to other drivers, and certainly avoid mimicking what the motorcyclist did over the weekend.Sarah Nelson, owner and rider coach at Utah Rider Ed, told KUTV 2News motorcyclists are instructed to use good judgment based on their skill level."So often these situations end with tragedy,” Nelson said in an email.
