Uber and Lyft won't ask U.S. riders and drivers to wear masks, joining others in shifting policies after a ruling voiding the U.S. transit mask mandate.
Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. will no longer ask riders and drivers in the U.S. to wear masks, joining a growing number of major transport providers shifting their policies.
"Remember: many people still feel safer wearing a mask because of personal or family health situations, so please be respectful of their preferences," Uber said in a statement. In the U.K., Uber's other major market, the company already relaxed its rules for mask-wearing in line with government advice.
