The win moved Arizona to 12-1 overall at the end of nonconference play. The Wildcats are now scheduled to take Christmas weekend off before returning next week to prepare for the resumption of Pac-12 play on Dec. 31 at ASU.Failing to put the Bears away for most of the game, but playing substitutes heavily after halftime, the Wildcats built their first 20-point lead with a 10-0 run after eight minutes were left in the game.
Arizona took leads of up to 17 points early in the second half but failed to hit a field goal for four minutes while Morgan State crept back within 56-45 with 13 minutes left. The game was still tied at 25 with 6:26 left before the Wildcats rattled off five straight points, with Ballo dunking after Miller turned the ball over, while Ramey then made 1 of 2 free throws and Ballo returned for a layup.
While Tubelis had his 13 points on 4-for-5 field-goal shooting and 5-of-6 free throws, Ballo added nine points and four rebounds in the first half.
