Here is what Ohio's Senators say about the deal.

COLUMBUS, Ohio —

The U.S. House is expected to vote Wednesday night on the debt ceiling deal, as Ohio lawmakers weigh in on the plan. Under fire from conservatives, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy worked furiously Tuesday to sell fellow Republicans on the debt ceiling and budget deal he negotiated with President Joe Biden and win approval in time to avert a potentially disastrous U.S. default.dealing with the federal debt ceiling to the full House, with two Republicans joining Democrats to oppose. If it passes there, the deal will head to the Senate.

“I plan to vote yes. The goal is we could not allow, like Republicans were trying to force, we could not allow that there'll be a default. We protected Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security and veterans benefits. That was our goal. We succeeded in that I plan to vote yes," Senator Sherrod Brown, Ohio, said."Right now, in its present form, I have some pretty significant concerns, and I will vote against it if it comes over in its present form.

“The Fiscal Responsibility Act is the first of many steps Republicans will take to restore fiscal sanity and hold Washington accountable. This bill cuts over $2 trillion in government spending, streamlines desperately needed energy projects through NEPA reform, saves trillions in executive overreach by enacting the first ever statutory Administrative Pay-Go, eliminates the total FY23 staffing funding request for new IRS agents, and much more.
