The closures will take place between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and are necessary so that workers can safely remove trees and vegetation ahead of construction of the southbound Interstate 680 express lane and pavement rehabilitation. That project involves building a new express lane on southbound Interstate 680 which will stretch from Highway 84 to Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon. The express lane will close the gap between existing and in-process express lanes. It will also rehabilitate the pavement to provide a smoother road surface.
