Most of the rain is concentrated just north and east of its center over the Gulf of Mexico. However, there are other areas of showers and thunderstorms extending across parts of Florida.We expect this system to eventually drift toward the south or southeast. Therefore, it's not any direct threat to the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Local flash flooding is possible in some areas where areas of thunderstorms stall or move very slowly for an hour or so. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for part of South Florida, including Miami and Fort Lauderdale, through Friday evening.
