TJ Maxx's and Marshalls' comparison prices aren't always what they seem
Every product in TJ Maxx, whether it's a t-shirt or candle, has a recognizable tag attached. Apart from being notoriously difficult to peel off, these tags show shoppers the deal they are getting.
"Prices vary among other sellers and change over time," TJX states on its website."But our buying staff's goal is always to provide you with a useful comparison based on prices at which we believe substantial sales of the same or a similar item have been made at full-price department or specialty retailers in the area or online." TJ Maxx buys surplus inventory from department stores to keep its prices low.
