This is Ford's new Mustang GT3 racer.
As Ford announced at Daytona last season, the cars will debut with a Multimatic-run, two-car factory effort in the IMSA GTD Pro class. While factory programs are not allowed in the new-for-2024 GT3 class at Le Mans, Proton Competition has been announced as the company's first customer for a two-car Mustang program in the FIA World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Multimatic is a major engineering partner of Ford that recently ran the European side of the company's Ford GT program alongside Chip Ganassi Racing, while Proton is a long-time partner of Porsche in the GTE-Pro class that has already announced it will alsoThe Mustang is expected to make its first start during the 24 Hours of Daytona in January 2024 and, pending an acceptance of Proton Competition's two-car program to the FIA World Endurance Championship, the car should debut at Le Mans...
